What makes Law Assist uniquely qualified to support law firms?
Law Assist is an Australia-based company established and operated by Australian legal practitioners who understand the challenges and demands of running a law firm and specialise exclusively in supporting law firms.
We operate through a fully compliant Philippine-based entity, providing dedicated legal professionals while mitigating compliance risks associated with employing offshore staff.
The Fair Work Commission’s decision in the Joanna Pascua case clarified that Australian companies directly engaging overseas workers may be deemed employers under Australian law, with potential liabilities for employee entitlements. This has caused concern over compliance risks when engaging offshore staff without appropriate structures.
What kind of support can we expect from Law Assist?
Our support extends far beyond simply filling roles; we stay actively involved as a bridge between your firm and the dedicated staff, ensuring clear expectations, smooth communication, and timely resolution of any performance issues.
Your team gains the benefits of dedicated support without the burden of direct HR or operational management.
How much does it cost to engage Law Assist?
Pricing depends on the skill level and experience required, but on average, firms reduce labour costs by 40–60% compared to local hires. Our rates are all-inclusive, covering employee benefits such as leave entitlements, health insurance, performance bonuses, appraisals, and the provision of necessary tools like monitoring software and virtual remote desktops.
An initial cost of $1,000 applies—a fee reflecting your commitment and covering the full hiring process over 4 to 6 weeks. This includes all associated expenses such as job advertising, background checks, recruitment platform fees, and international call charges.
What’s the minimum commitment, and what if staff fall short?
If the placed professional isn’t meeting expectations, we act promptly to understand and address the issue through regular check-ins, monitoring and targeted support. The first few months are considered a settling-in period, and we generally recommend a commitment of 6 to 12 months to allow for optimal performance and efficiency gains.
Should you still feel that the fit isn’t right after we’ve exhausted all reasonable efforts to resolve the matter, we will provide a suitable replacement at no additional cost.
We do not require lock-in contracts.
